JENSEN J1CA9 is an all new single din head unit with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. This is JENSEN’s first attempt at an aftermarket head unit that features both Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but also retains your stock CD player!
This is marketed more towards the mass markets of Asian countries where people don’t really buy large SUV’s or Trucks. This means that the market for a single din Apple Carplay unit is going to be huge in Asia and hopefully this will cause other head unit companies to jump on the wagon.
The JENSEN J1CA9 is almost identical to the Panasonic CQ-C9983 in terms of features and hardware. The major difference is that this doesn’t look like an aftermarket head unit, making it perfect for cars with worn or bland interiors (like my RAV4) where you want to retain your stock look and feel.
The Best Single Din Apple Carplay is built like a tank and feels very solid for the great price point (you can probably find this for cheaper if you search around). The bezels are made from plastic, but they look extremely good and much better than previous JENSEN models.
The rear USB port comes in very handy and allowed you to add a USB input for my wireless charger, something that you can’t do in your RAV4 (due to the fact that Toyota made the USB ports non-compliant with apple products). The rear USB is also super handy when travelling and allows you to charge your phone while driving!
